Steak Seasoning Recipe
I love a great steak on the grill. For the longest time I have used a store bought Montreal steak seasoning. I would rub the steaks with the seasoning and let them sit in the fridge most of the day. Take them out 30 minutes to an hour before grilling so they could warm to room temperature, and throw them on a hot grill.
Well something changed with the seasoning that I used to buy, and I just don’t like it anymore, So after a few tries with different store bought seasoning mixes I decided to just mix my own. This is simple and delicious. I keep a shaker top jar of it mixed so whenever we are having steaks it is ready to go.
- 1 Tbs course cracked black pepper
- 1 Tbs onion powder
- 1 Tbs paprika
- 1/2 Tbs granulated garlic
- 1/2 Tbs dried rosemary lightly crushed
- 1/2 Tbs crushed red chili flakes
- 1/2 Tbs dried thyme
Another tip is to print or write out a label for whatever shaker or jar you plan to keep this in. Include the ingredients and quantities on the label so when it is time to refill you already have the recipe ready.
